Summary:
Will Victoria's mandatory reporting legislation improve the situation for abused children? A recent survey indicates that doctors are confused about their rights and obligations under the legislation, and that this is likely to limit the success of the law. Grant Holland concludes that the introduction of such legislation requires careful planning and should be accompanied by appropriate training for practitioners.
